abhishek bachchan pictures

abishek bachchan, bollywood actor, hero
Since he was interested in acting and his father Amitabh Bachchan supports his decision, he stopped studying business in United States and joined in Films. From the beginning of his career, it wasn’t hard to spot the young AB in this AB. The similarity of the towering six foot frame looming large, the trademark quick wit, the same endearing persona which beckons you, and the same solitary Amitabh likeness which makes you retrace a few steps. All this adds up to an enigmatic persona that is hard to resist. Not surprisingly then his debut has always been a topic of discussion. Although his parents kept insisting that the boy was more interested in the behind-the-scenes intricacies of film-making, that he was much too young for stardom, that he was planning to go abroad for higher studies in another field, no one was buying these stories. Abhishek was destined to be a star.

The beginnig of the career had to be carefully planned. A lot of planning and thought went into deciding who would be the chosen one to launch him. After the mega success of Bandit Queen Shekhar Kapur seemed to be the obvious choice. The rumour mills were buzzing overtime till Shekhar took off for Hollywood ventures like Elizabeth I than Amitabh II. Then Manoj Desai, who heads the Amitabh Bachchan Fan Club, announced that he was going to be launching Abhishek. And papa Amitabh and Shah Rukh Khan were also part of the cast.

Manoj Desai's claim that he was going to make a movie with Abhishek Bachhan, was quelled by a quick denial. The next name on the list of can-bes was Ketan Desai's. The son of Manmohan Desai who had given Amitabh some of his biggest blockbusters. But it won’t be Bachchan junior’s first. That honour goes to JP Dutta who came out of the wilderness with his war epic Border, a film which got him rave reviews, several awards and an A1 rating from the Bachchans. So JP it will be who will chart Abhishek’s path on celluloid.

It is only right that Abhishek Bachchan who, today, is a star without an image, lives out that dream. Sunil Shetty at a suburban studio, got the first inkling of the new star. " My God, you just have to see the job Abhishek has done in the film. It's absolutely super." "He is very much his own actor," said Sunil. "Of course, there are moments when he is his father's son, but that's not because he's been influenced, it's more due to the fact that it's in his genes, both from his father as well as his mother."

Although Abhishek is very much an actor in his own, the pressure of measuring up to his talented parents, could also be quite a strain. How was he facing up to this fact? There are no clear cut answers to this, but this what an insider, a member of the cast, had to say about the Big Little AB

"Abhishek does not once forget where he comes from or whose son he is. But when it comes to his work, he's taken the best of both and combined it with a talent that is his own and the result will soon be there for all to see. I feel it's quite awesome."

Refugee

A close family friend, Rinke Khanna, when once being asked about dealing with parental pressure, had this to say of Abhishek. "I think it's very unfair to make comparisons. Jaya aunty is an awesome actress and Amitabh uncle is fabulous as well. But when it comes to Abhishek, I'm sure he's going to have his own brand of super talent as well! I'm certain he will make his parents very proud."

The Violin Man

An obedient son who makes his parents proud is what Abhishek is. The pride present on the faces of his parenst is much too evident and apparent at the public gatherings and social parties that people have seen him at. He's the epitome of a gentleman like behaviour like his father and grandfather before him. This gentlemanly conduct is not just limited to the elder folks, he is very much a ladies man as well.

One highly impressed socialite remarked. "In today's day and age, where youngsters barely wish you leave alone have a conversation with you, Abhishek is so different. It's always such a pleasure meeting him. He's polite, has a wonderful, dry sense of humour and the best part is, that you know he's not doing it to impress you. It's just so natural in his case."

Dhoom II

I do not think we can label him as a Cassanova, but definitely a ladies man, But how far does this infruction of opposite sex infringe upon his gentlemanly nature. Is he a die hard romeo, or is he flirtatious by nature?

"I would call it charming," clarified a socialite. "Abhishek flirts with such elan that all you can think of him as is charming! He certainly has a wonderful manner whereby he makes those he's dealing with, comfortable."

The "Son" Flower

Is there another side to this charming, affable, gentlemanly fellow whom we lovingly call Baby AB?

According to his mother, Jaya Bachchan, there is. Sometime ago, one was curious to know whether a gentleman like her son, had a temper.

"Of course he does," she said emphatically... "Abhishek is a fabulous son, but like every other child, there have been a few exasperating moments." Some say Abhishek is more like his mother by nature, though outwardly, he seems to be a real chip off the old block! A close family friend put some perspective on this subject. "Abhishek has a lot of both his parents but yes, people who are close, know him to be loving and friendly like Jaya. But he certainly has his father's dry sense of humour. I think it's quite a combination."

Bottled Vigour

Abhishek knew it from the very beginning that he has to make it big in cinema just like his father and mother. That’s why before completing his business degree in Boston University, he chose to come back to India and start his career in movies.

Not only is he one of the sought-after stars in Bollywood, Abhishek has also been named as Asia’s Sexiest Male of year 2006 by a British tabloid. The most eligible bachelor of Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan is today living up to the credentials of the distinguished Bachchan family.

The Colors In Black & White

In the month of April 2007, the then most-talked-about couple of Bollywood Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot and became partners for life. Their “extended honeymoon” continued for months as they went together arm-in-arm from Tahiti Islands to Cannes and back to Mumbai. Ash and Abhi’s match seems made in heaven. Even months after their marriage the immense love between them is visible whenever they are together. And as the year draws to a close, tinsel town is abuzz is rumours about Aishwarya’s pregnancy, but nothing has been confirmed by the Bachchans as yet.

The Guru

He made his acting debut in the year 2000 with J.P Dutta’s Refugee which was a great launch pad for him. But the film didn’t turn out to be a box-office success. Abhishek kept on signing new projects, but none of them proved to be a big hit. After a string of flops, Abhi was dubbed a “dark horse” by his detractors.

Even on the personal front, Abhishek’s luck didn’t favour him. His engagement with well-known Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor broke in 2002.

On Fire

The year that was, 2007, was a pretty good year for the AB baby. He set the svreen on fire with a number of good projects. His work in Guru giving the supposed portrayal of Dhirubhai Ambani was critically acclaimed. The year 2008 is also a busy year for Abhishek. The junior Bachchan will be seen in a superhero flick called Drona , which is presently in production stages. Abhi has already begun shooting Rakeysh Mehra’s Dilli 6 with Sonam Kapoor . He will also make a special appearance in director Apoorva Lakhia’s film Mission Istanbul which has Vivek Oberoi in main role.

AB's Baby

Nana Patekar
is all set to replace Abhishek Bachchan in Satish Kaushik's controversial film, Mujhe Zinda Karo. The film is based on a real life incident of Lal Bihari from Uttar Pradesh who was declared dead by government officials when he was actually alive. He had to fight a legal battle for 18 long years to prove that he was actually alive and the government officials had made mistakenly declared him dead.

Although Abhishek Bachchan had been signed and the film was scheduled to go on the floors in December last year, things didn't progress after that. As Abhishek didn't give his dates, the producers couldn't start shooting Mujhe Zinda Karo.
